Art Gallery Choice
My choice of Museum style Is to have a modern look very similar to the block colored walls with smooth concrete floors pictured in my moldboard I want this style as the colour blocks outline the pieces hung on the wall but do not take away from them, this pairs with the idea of the concrete floor fitting with my Street photography exhibit I think this pairing will work well with my exhibit plans. I want these features to allow the art to be front and center but swell as this style I want to make sure I include features both on the app and in the museum that add to the style. I want to have information boards that are bold and clear allowing for enough information to get a good idea of what the piece is and I would like it to be accessible by having a colour scheme that is readable for colorblind people further I would like headphones with guided tours at entrances and on the ticket selection for these options to be available. I want all of these features to make sure the style not only fits with my exhibition but is functional for everyone at all times as much as possible.
Problem Solving
The problem I am trying to solve with my app is having a user experience that is able to fulfill needs both before attendance to the exhibit and during the attendance. This problem can be solved by designing the app around common problems and annoyances in visitor experience having the issues that could arise be solved already through the app like being lost or having to worry about printing physical tickets.
Before attending, I want to have the full before attending process be in the app, this means that it will contain the ticket buying process and the information for the exhibit and a map to tell people what will be where around the museum these features will allow the visitors to feel more comfortable when it comes time to attending the event as they will have everything all at once in the same place accessible and easy to use. This will also make it easier for the museum to have this process be in app people can find their information including navigation and what event is on at the gallery.
During Attendence during attendance I want the app to be used for multiple things, First map, the map will be used by the user to in the museum to navigate the exhibition it will allow them to find their way making sure they see the section they came to see, it will also feature things like locations of bathrooms features of the museum they require like guided tours and information on places to sit to take a break for visitors who may need to do so like those with kids. Ticket wallet, The ticket wallet will be how the user will get into the event allowing both the user and the museum to have a seamless transition getting in by scanning the barcode. This will also allow the visitors to have less problems before coming like printing out tickets it can be accessible on their phone an item everyone carries round everyday making sure there is no extra burden paced on the visitor to attend the event.
