colour , tone and direction

For my direction, I think based on my research that I want to have a minimalist style that is straight to the point and functional. I want to have a system that is understandable, consistent, and throughout while still maintaining a stylish look for the users to enjoy, drawing them to the app while providing a fun functional user experience.

Colour

For colour, I think I am going to have a colour palette for the main pages being simple with 5 colours. One bright, vibrant colour to show the main thing and purpose at the time, with 2 lighter colours with a light and dark shade for the font and titles in the app, and finally, a darker colour with the same lighter and darker shades for the sections and backgrounds.

Tone

For the tone of the app, I want to have a calm tone that allows you to navigate the app easily and understand what you are doing. I want to do this by implementing a simple colour palette for the main pages, and then I want the fun, functional tone set with custom designs for artist and vendor selections, making the full experience unique and fun.

Direction

For my direction, I want to use my tone and colour ideas to make a streamlined app that is functional and enjoyable with a unique experience for users from the easy navigation to the enjoyable pages. I want to do this by following a simple colour palette with a calm and forward-thinking tone. I think this will allow my app to be likable and easy for users.

User Personas

For my research, I have created two different user personas. One user persona is Alice Spade, a 22-year-old uni student. I created this persona because it is a lot like an average festival customer. Festivals are full of unique students and people of similar ages. Secondly, I created The Steve Reed, a 36-year-old sparky. This persona is made to contrast the uni student, having different music tastes and different personality traits, being more reserved and willing to spend a little more. This creates two separate user personas, which allows me to explore different app concepts.

App Concept Ideas From Personas

  • Price comparison
  • security features
  • quality = price filter (maybe based on reviews )
  • Genre Filteration
  • Low populated area tracking (map maybe or special tickets)
  • Minimalist design
  • variation in genre and stages (not one centralized stage )
